Student Workshop-R (SW-R) Version 2.0

With this program each student can have their own version of Training Labs popular CATTRAX-R program. This student version includes all the same graphics, animations, text, and interactivity that the CATTRAX-R program has in Units 1, 2 and 3. This latest version comes on a handy USB drive with enhanced navigation abilities all for about the price of a text book.

Unit 1 covers Physics Theory and gives the student/user the understanding of the relationship between pressure, temperature, and volume that are required to understand how refrigeration systems work.

Latent Heat Application (Animation)

Unit 2 introduces the student/user to the main components of a mechanical refrigerant system and traces the path of the refrigerant in its various states through the system. This unit also includes information on the different refrigerants used in the HVAC/R industry and helps the user understand how pressure, temperature and enthalpy play a role in system operation.

Compressor Operation (Cut-away Animation)

Unit 3 teaches the student/user how metering devices and other accessory devices are constructed with cut-aways and animations of their operation and where they are located in various systems.

All Training Labs Software products are PC Based. Mac users need special software not supplied by Training Labs that allows the operation of PC programs to run Training Labs Software. Training Labs does not guarantee all software components will operate the same on a Mac as on a PC.

This latest version comes on a handy USB drive with enhanced navigation abilities all for about the price of a text book.

Unit 1 covers safety and the basics of electricity. Subjects covered include; series and parallel circuits, conductors and wiring techniques, magnetic circuits, AC and DC electricity, inductance, and capacitance.

Producing Electricity with a Generator (Animation)

Unit 2 presents electro-mechanical controls in a cut-away, ghosted view and hi-light format that allows the student/user to easily understand how controls are constructed and animation that lets the user see how these controls operate.

Low Pressure Cut-Out Operation (Animation)

Unit 3 is designed to help the student/user to understand circuits and circuit diagrams in both the pictorial and schematic (ladder) format. Circuits are presented in simple step-by-step format showing their logical sequence of control.
